3 Tips For Holiday Stress Relief

The holidays are upon us and stress and anxiety are in full swing.  Attending parties, going to family gatherings, cleaning the house, working, dealing with the kids, dealing with the family, all of it leads to high stress.  Add in buying gifts, wrapping, long lines, short tempers and lots of angry people this season, and it becomes one big recipe for disaster.  If you are trying to stay sober, it only makes the stress worse.  So what do you do?  You hire a stress and anxiety coach and let her assist you in reducing stress and anxiety and dealing with the crazy family at gatherings.

Here are 3 things you can do to reduce stress:

1. Plan Ahead   Spend an hour or two and get a list of everything you need to accomplish between now and the holiday.  Start crossing items off the list over the next 25 days.  The list will seem more manageable if you do not wait until the last minute and rush to get it all done.  Otherwise you end up buying gifts at the gas station!

2. Plan Time To Workout  If you neglect yourself you will feel worse.  Exercise reduces stress naturally.  Do your best to eat healthy, and limit your sugar and salt.

3. Stay Calm  When stress overwhelms you, take deep breaths and calm yourself down, focusing on the task at hand.
