8 Quick Tips to Pull Yourself Out of a Funk

get out of funkYou know that feeling you get when you’re just not feeling yourself, and nothing seems to be going right? It’s pretty common to feel this way sometimes, but it can be hard to get back on track.

Many factors contribute – whether it’s stress, lack of sleep, or even too much time spent on social media. We all get down sometimes. It’s a part of life, and it’s normal.

But there are also things you can do today to help you feel better and more motivated. These quick tips will help you break free from your funk and feel better about yourself!

Watch something funny

Watching a funny movie or TV show may not seem like it’s doing much, but studies show that even a small dose of humor can make you feel tons better. It changes your brain chemistry to help reduce stress and anxiety.

You can always have a lot of fun by watching something funny on YouTube. Or go out with friends to watch a stand-up comedian or even a TV show like Saturday Night Live. Maybe browse through Netflix and watch your favorite sitcom to change things up.

Go for a walk outside.

Sometimes, all it takes to boost your mood is a change of scenery. Getting outside allows you to interact with the world around you and see all its beauty – including all the other people on earth!

If walking isn’t your thing, go for a drive or ride your bike somewhere. Just get out there and enjoy being in nature.

Take a bubble bath or have a nice relaxing shower.

It’s not just about the warm water – which is very soothing to your nerves – it’s also about how you feel while you’re relaxing. There are many amazing products out there that will help you relax and get in the mood to take on the day!

Consider using bath salts, a bath bomb, or even some calming essential oils in the water. It might do you a world of good.

Listen to your favorite music.

Music is very therapeutic, especially if it’s something you know well. It can help you feel positive, inspired, and motivated. So, if your favorite song just isn’t doing it for you today, find a new one that does inspire you!

You can also listen to music in the background when you’re working out (or even while taking a walk); listening to some upbeat tunes will surely give you a boost of energy.

Moreover, music is a great way to zone out and just get lost in your own thoughts for a while. That’s never a bad thing!

Clean your room or organize your desk.

This one might not be for everyone, but it works really well if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Getting organized can help clear your mind and remind you that things aren’t so bad after all!

It will also make you more productive when working on other tasks because your space is clean and organized. Start with your desk at work or the kitchen counter and keep going until your whole space is clutter-free.

Smile more often.

It’s very simple, but often times we forget to smile because we’re too caught up in our day-to-day life.

A positive attitude can go a long way and affect the mood of everyone around you, especially if others are having a bad day as well. Smiling isn’t just good for your health – it makes other people feel happier. Additionally, there’s evidence that smiling triggers happy feelings.

It’s a simple little thing you can do to put yourself in a more positive mood and feel better! Just make it a habit to smile at everyone – strangers, family, friends, dogs…you name it!

Drink some water.

Drinking water is very important, but sometimes we forget it when we’re in a funk or stressed. And that’s normal – eating is usually the first thing to go if you’ve got too much on your mind and don’t have time for yourself.

But staying hydrated will help you feel better and more refreshed – helping you deal with stress better, too. Additionally, it will also refresh your skin and give it that glow you’ve been looking for.

Get some advice

Sometimes, life has a way of throwing us curveballs, and we don’t know how to deal with life’s little problems. In these instances, it’s always good to have someone you can turn to for advice and guidance.

You might think life has dealt you enough lemons, but life is full of people who will give you advice and support you through life’s ups and downs.
