FBI raids sober living condos in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —FBI agents and state fraud police raided Good Decisions Sober Living on Georgia Avenue as part of an insurance fraud investigation.
Good Decisions Sober Living is a condominium complex where recovering alcoholics and drugs addicts pay rent to live, get drug tested, and receive outpatient care.
Residents told WPBF 25 News that investigators rounded up all of the employees and seized workers’ phones, laptops, tablets and boxes of documents from the facility’s office.
The Florida Association of Recovery Residences, which is watchdog of sober homes in the state, assisted in the investigation.
The association said Good Decisions was gaming the system by taking kickbacks and overcharging insurance companies for poor quality services and care.
“Good Decisions was one of the worst abusers in Florida,” John Lehman of FARR told WPBF 25 News reporter John Dzenitis.
