Question: “How Would I Know if I’m Dating a Narcissist?”
Dr. Cali’s answer: “Go to their Facebook profile. If every one of their posts starts with the letter I, followed by some random activities such as going to Starbucks, taking a shower, going to bed, etc. Or seeing any other randomly normal event designed to get people to comment and engage followed by complaining of something on the negative side to get people to engage ( like people are calling too much, posting the wrong comments ) etc., you are probably dating a narcissist. Also constant posts of selfies usually with the same smile or expression designed to elicit a specific response.
A narcissist loves attention. Negative or positive, it doesn’t matter. They need to have engagement and when they don’t have it their self-esteem and their self-worth is tied to other people’s comments.
They will also remark about the number of likes they get. They will even go so far as to complain about other people who have attained more success than them by pointing out their flaws on a consistent basis. It will then be compared to all of the things they’re doing correctly.
