To Use Marijuana in Addiction Treatment or Not? That is The Question

Many clients come to Dr. Cali Estes and her elite team at The Addictions Coach, having been on Suboxone for many months, or even years.  What we need to realize is they are just as addicted to this “treatment” drug as they were on the illicit opiod they were trying to quit!

These clients are looking to get off drugs, ALL drugs, and really be clean and sober.  A natural plant, cannabis has been shown to lessen the severity of the symptoms associated with detox while on Suboxone, such as restless legs, nausea, headache, and insomnia, and for many this is exactly what works to get them off Suboxone for good.

Opposers of Marijuana use in treatment say that it will be our next tobacco fiasco, targeting kids, and keeping everyone addicted to Marijuana.  These proponents of the War on Drugs do not see any value in the relief that Cannabis has offered to people suffering in pain, or addicted to Big Pharma medications.  And have even gone as far as saying that “no true medicine is a plant.”

I tend to believe our ancestors and natural healers may take issue with that.
